Jonah Quotes...

“They sure have a big house.” (watching the Brady Bunch)

I overheard him saying this when he was playing by himself with action figures and cars etc.
"Watch and learn everyone,...watch and learn".

"You're not so berry good at that mom". About making the W H(wh)sound. (He's learning how to blend sounds in preschool. So we were practicing together in the car. He would sit there and correct me.)

"I'm just a little bit shy about that."

"I'm gonna miss Kara when she goes back home to Oregon. I think I'm gonna cry. I think that maybe I'm gonna miss her and that will make me sad and maybe make me cry."

In a perfect world...

I am feeling a little overwhelmed today realizing Christmas is approaching fast and I have a lot to do. Being out for a week (surgery) has really set me back with getting things done. Oh well... I will just do what I can and try not to stress over everything else I can't. This will be good practice for me, of prioritizing and getting only the most important things done.
In a perfect world, laundry would be done and put away, the house would be clean, the toy's organized, every room in the house organized, windows, baseboards and shutters washed (no dust), christmas shopping done, small children could wipe their own bums, Christmas cards already sent, mom's wouldn't have to clean up after everyone else's pee (including their husbands). I guess I just need to come to terms with, there is no perfect world, do not expect there to be a perfect world, do not expect to be perfect in this world, and certainly expect those around you to be perfect either. Bums will still need to be wiped, houses will still get messy, and the pee will not go away... unless of course you start sending them outside to do their business. Then maybe at least your bathrooms could stay clean, and that would be pretty darn close to a perfect world for me =).

Life after hernia surgery...

Well I haven't been online all week because I had surgery on Monday...I figured getting cut open would be unpleasant but WOW...I had no idea. I guess I was really dumb to think that modern medicine could take away ALL of the pain. I am recovering now and feeling much better. I actually showered and got ready today. It's amazing what actually getting ready for the day can do for you.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was a good day...but, it just isn't Thanksgiving unless you have at least 40 pies to choose from =). I assumed all families had a dessert selection like ours. So, when I came into Adam's family and realized that pumpkin was your only option, I have to admit I was a little dissappointed. However, you can't beat a great pumpkin pie (with lots of whip cream). Not to mention by eliminating all those choices in desserts it really saves me some calories and guilt. It was a great day yesterday but I did miss my family. That is when we are usually there =(. Jonah asked me today when we were going to have Thanksgiving. I told him that we did and then he asked, "Well we didn't go to Oregon...when are we going to Oregon?". Thanksgiving usually means Oregon. He was disappointed a little when he realized we'd had Thanksgiving and it wasn't in Oregon. But he had fun with his family here too.
We went and saw Enchanted. That was a cute show.

Quotes from Jonah

"Who killed the turkey?", when the turkey was served to him yesterday.

"Mom, do you know whats after this night?... (he whispers)black Friday. It's the biggest shopping day of the year"
He was wearing a black ninja shirt last night and he took it off and told me he was going to save it for tomorrow (black Friday).

"I'm not so very ticklish now that I'm 5".

It's a beautiful day!

Well, today is a beautiful day. The sun is shining, the sky is blue, it is unusually warm outside, and the mountains are amazing. I love Thanksgiving week. Usually that means I get to be home with my family (Oregon), go shopping, and eat lot's of good food (along with a choice of 40 different pies). This year we are instead going the day after Christmas. I am excited it will be really fun. Jonah is excited too! He loves going to Oregon and playing with his cousins. Not to mention all of the attention that he receives. I love the holiday's for everything they represent, for the time spent with family. The feeling of love, kindness, service and gratitude that can be felt even above the mean faced, game on, impatient shoppers that always surface during the holiday season as well. They make me laugh and want to kind of annoy them just a little bit because I know I can, and I know it would be easy. They are going to be mad anyways why not have a little fun out there when you are battling over the last pair of 2 for 1 socks. Anyhow, I am excited to have a great week. It's going to be a great end of the year!

Chase and Jonah are doing so great. Jonah is turning into such a sweet, kind, hysterically funny little boy with such good manners (most of the time). Chase is personality plus as well. They really are funny kids.
I don't know what to say. I only know that I should say something. I don't keep my blog updated, I was reminded of that by my sister. I have a hard time keeping in touch because life get's so busy. I get mad at people that do that, yet I do that. It's funny how our biggest pet pieves in other people are often the very things that drive us crazy about ourselves. We reflect our annoying behaviors onto other people. If we truly want to see ourselves for who we are we will take note of the the very things that drive us crazy about other people. As well as, the things we love about other people. I don't take the time to blog because I don't want to sit around and think about what it is I'm going to say. That takes way too long! It's like I sit here wasting most of my time trying to come up with something that other people just may be interested in. Well since I will probably be the only one reading this it doesn't really matter. I have decided I am just going to sit down everyday and write for 2-5 minutes. Whatever comes to mind. I can spend 2-5 minutes. I just can't waste my time worrying about what other people are going to think about what I say. I mean let's be honest maybe 5 people in the world know about this blog anyways. Chances are they don't even read it because they know I don't update it. So really this is for me. And if you are reading this...Hello! welcome to my rambling blog. I hope in someway this doesn't completely waste 2 minutes of your day =).

Just another day in Utah

Yesterday, I had jury duty for the first time...what a pleasant experience!! actually it was fine it just took a long time for them to not pick me. Which I have to say was the hoped for outcome. Not that I don't want to do my civic duty, it's just I only had a babysitter for half of the day. Jonah and Chase are doing awesome! Chase for the first time yesterday made attempts on his own to walk. He has refused up until this point...not that he couldn't, because he can, but he chooses his Mogley (sp?) crawl instead. Hands and feet on the ground bum straight up in the air. He is quite fast at it. It is really funny to watch. Anyhow, yesterday was his first real attempts on his own to take his first steps without being tricked or it being accidental (him not realizing that's what he's doing). Jonah is in pre-school and really enjoying it. He comes everyday with new facts about spider's. That is what they are learning about right now so he fills me in on the wolf spider, black widow, water spider's, and tarantula's. He can even sing a song about spider's (it's really funny). He will even correct me on spider facts...I knew at some point my kids would pass me up in smarts, I just didn't anticipate it being in pre-school =).
